DETROIT—On Tuesday, June 2 Midwest Recycling
donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross in celebration of
National Giving Day.
Midwest Recycling was founded by
businessman Abe Hachem. Last year Midwest recycling donated $10,000 to the
American Red Cross. Midwest Recycling is partnering with
the American Red Cross of Southeast Michigan to benefit women, children and
families in crisis.
A key hallmark of the partnership between Midwest
Recycling and the Red Cross is the placement and maintenance of clothing
donation bins in communities throughout Southeast Michigan. Currently, there
are nearly 400 such bins throughout Southeast and West Michigan.
Given the similar missions shared by Midwest Recycling
and the American Red Cross, it only seemed natural to Hachem that the two team up.
“It’s never been more important to help
those in need. Whether it’s a blood drive or disaster recovery, Midwest
Recycling is committed to doing all we can to help fund the remarkable work
done by the Red Cross,” Hachem said.
