DEARBORN — Rallies in support of International Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Day
are held locally and throughout the Middle East each year on the last Friday of
Ramadan. Demonstrators speak out
against Israel’s control of Jerusalem and its occupation of Palestine. The
rallies are held in solidarity with oppressed people around the world.
Every year Arab Americans gather for an Al-Quds Day rally in Dearborn. This year’s Al-Quds Day rally was held outside
the Henry Ford Centennial Library on Friday, July 10.
Demonstrators held up signs, banners and flags, in support of
Palestinian freedom from occupiers. Some signs read, “Stop Killing Children
Like Me!” and “Stop U.S. Aid to Israel.”
