DEARBORN HEIGHTS—On Thursday, July 9 Dearborn Heights Mayor Dan Paletko held an iftar dinner at Al Shallal Banquet Room. The city has a sizable Muslim population. Paletko holds an iftar dinner every Ramadan for the Muslim community. About 150 people attended the iftar including local community leaders and businessmen. 

Paletko said the iftar was an opportunity for him to extend his best wishes for a successful Ramadan to his friends, and invite them to break fast as his guest. 

David Turfe, a judge at the Dearborn Heights 20th District Court and Dearborn Heights City Council candidate and real estate agent Dave Abdallah both attended the dinner. During the event Paletko announced his support for Abdullah’s campaign.
