DEARBORN — On Aug. 26 Dearborn Police responded to the 2900
Block of Cornell to investigate several larcenies from vehicle reports. One victim was able to obtain surveillance
video of the suspects entering his unlocked vehicle. The video shows a second suspect attempting
to enter a second vehicle on the property but he could not gain access to the
locked vehicle. The suspects are described as white males, 16-20 years old with thin builds.
Police have been aggressively promoting the “Lock It or Lose
It” Campaign designed as a national
awareness program urging the public to make a conscientious effort to secure
their vehicles. The vast majority of
these cases are crimes of opportunity and the public needs to take advantage of
available information to prevent them from becoming victims.
“Crimes of opportunity are difficult crimes to solve but they
are easy to prevent. We ask the public
to be steadfast in insuring their property is secured at all times because it
only takes seconds to become a victim. The Dearborn Police are requesting your
assistance in identifying the suspects involved in this incident and are urging
you to call with information,” said Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad.
