LANSING – Gov. Rick Snyder is leading an investment mission to Japan and Germany to strengthen trade relationships between Michigan and the two nations.
Snyder aims to attract business investments that will create jobs and expand markets for Michigan-made goods.
Snyder will meet with government and business leaders in both countries, beginning his trip to Japan on Wednesday, Sept. 9 and returning from Germany on Thursday, Sept. 17.
“The world is increasingly interconnected and it’s important for leaders in other countries to hear about what Michigan has to offer,” Snyder said in a press release. “We’re the leader in automotive research and design, we have a strong manufacturing base and we have a talented workforce. Those qualities are attractive to businesses considering expanding in the United States, and we want them to create those jobs here.”
Snyder will attend the 66th Frankfurt Auto Show in Germany, where he will meet with executives from automotive supply chain companies and European auto part suppliers.
