DETROIT – Police removed four children from a Detroit home after they were left alone on Tuesday.
The children range in age from 9 months old to 6 years old.
Police said the property manager discovered the children in the home in the 20000 block of Faust, near Southfield Freeway and 8 mile. He brought them into his air conditioned car and called 911.
Officers say the children appear to be malnourished. Neighbors rushed over bringing food and diapers. The children were staying in the home during high temperatures, without air condition.
All four children were taken to Children’s Hospital and released to other relatives.
Police say the mother was allegedly out doing her hair while her children remained home. She has been ticketed and Child Protective Services is now investigating the incident..
Other charges could be filed, authorities said.
