DETROIT – Police seek assailants after a gas station shooting on Detroit’s west side left one man dead and another injured.
The AANews has learned that the victim was a 26-year-old Detroit man named Ahsan Alwatan, an Iraqi immigrant.
The second man shot has not been identified, but he is 26 years old and of Yemeni descent. He remains hospitalized.
The incident took place around 11:33 p.m. on 18100 W. Warren, at the Fuel Depot, near the Southfield Freeway, according to Detroit Police Department.
People in a black Cadillac Escalade pulled up next to the victims, who were in a silver Dodge Ram, an argument ensued and someone in the Escalade started shooting.
Following the incident, a brawl also erupted at the gas station as onlookers attempted to aid the victims.
The AANews was told that Alwatan was killed immediately.
