DEARBORN – Three young men have tragically passed away within just a few days apart, leaving behind mourning families and friends in Dearborn.
On Thursday, September 29, around 4 a.m., 26-year-old Hassan Chokr was found unresponsive in his vehicle near Wyoming and Michigan Ave. Detroit Police contacted his family to report that he had died.
Further circumstances surrounding his untimely passing remains unknown.
According to his Facebook page, Chokr was an employee at Quicken Loans. He had graduated from Fordson High School.
On the evening of Thursday, September 29, Haider Alamery was gunned down during a fatal car jacking in Detroit.
The incident had occurred in the Warrendale neighborhood.
According to a witness, Alamery had been laying on the ground still conscious just minutes after the incident, with his shoes missing.
His last moments were captured on Facebook during a live feed, but the video was later deleted.
Alamery was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Alamery, known as “Curly,” was a popular barber in Dearborn.
He graduated from Dearborn High School and attended Henry Ford College.
Over the weekend, it was also reported that Hassan El-Moussa died in a motorcycle accident.
Details about the incident still have not yet been made public, including the location of the accident.
El-Moussa’s death marks the second fatal motorcycle accident involving a local Arab American resident in just a little over a month, following the death of 19-year-old Mohamad Hazimi on August 28 in Dearborn.
Dearborn Police have cited a surge in motor cycle related crashes in recent months and urge riders to wear helmets.
