DEARBORN — The Arab American Health Initiative (AAHI) will introduce health seminars to the community on Saturday, March 31 from 1-3 p.m.

Attendees will gain hands-on experience in using an AED machine and performing bystander CPR.

They should also be able to learn to recognize emergency medical conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, cardiac arrest, diabetic emergencies and drug overdose and respond to them in an effective way.

The program will be presented in English and Arabic. Dr. Hafez Bazzi, assistant program director of emergency medicine at St. John Hospital, will offer his expertise through a presentation and a Q & A session. The event is free and no registration is necessary.

The Arab American Health Initiative is founded by medical students and health professionals who are interested in empowering and educating the community.
