DEARBORN — The League of Women Voters in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, urges voters to use resources from VOTE411.org in preparation for the general mid-term elections on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
VOTE411.org’s online interactive voter guide includes contact information for participating candidates and responses to panel of questions proposed to candidates by the local and state Leagues. Voters can also access information for non-partisan races, such as local school boards and county judges. It lists a summary of functions and terms of each elected office, an overview of all ballot proposals, as well as precinct information.
“The mid-term elections are an important opportunity for voters to support candidates at the local, state and federal levels,” said Mary Jo Durivage, president of the local League. “I encourage all voters to visit VOTE411.org, as this comprehensive and easy-to-use online service will provide them with essential information about their candidates, ballot initiatives and polling places. To use this service, voters can enter their home addresses on VOTE411.org and receive customized, non-partisan information.”
A condensed selection of the information available on VOTE411.org will go into print-edition voter guides that will be made available at public libraries, city halls and many other sites in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights in early October.
The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election is Oct. 9.
