DETROIT — Family and Crime Stoppers of Michigan are seeking assistance in locating suspects involved in the fatal shooting of Khaili Fadhel, 34, co-owner of K Y Phones in Hamtramck.
The shooting occurred about 3:30 a.m. March 26 on Detroit’s east side. Fadhel and his brother Younis Fadhel, 26, were at home at 5598 Talbot St. when they stepped out to investigate noises they’d heard.
Khaili Fadhel was gunned down multiple times at the front door and Younis Fadhel was shot at the rear of the house. Three to five suspects fled the scene to a waiting car on Casmere St.
Fadhel came to the U.S at age 16 from Yemen. He leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter, Malak, and a 9-month-old son, Omar.
Members of the Detroit area Yemeni community have given different theories on the killing, but the case remains unsolved. A $10,000 reward is offered for information on Fadhel’s murder.
