ROSEVILLE — On Wednesday, a 24-year-old woman was charged with murder and child abuse for dumping a newborn into the Roseville Recycling Center.
On Jan. 15 at around 1:30 a.m. the newborn baby’s body was found at the ReCommunity Recycling Depot on Groesbeck. According to police, the woman has three other children, who are not in her custody, and has had run-ins with Child Protective Services. She was arrested on Monday just days after Crime Stoppers offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. The newborn was believed to be only one to three days old.
Police received tips from people who noticed the woman wasn’t pregnant anymore. Berlin says the information the woman gave to tipsters didn’t make sense.
