DEARBORN — The 30th annual Mayor’s Arts Awards Ceremony will take place inside studio A at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, April 10. The awards, which are open to the public at no charge, are presented by the Dearborn Community Arts Council and the mayor’s office.
“The DCAC looks forward to spotlighting these individuals and groups who have enriched our lives and our communities with their talent, as well as their dedication and support of the arts,” the DCAC said in a press release.
The event will begin at 7 p.m.
This year’s award winners are David Wood, 2017 Volunteer Award; Haydar Al Yasiry, 2017 Artist Award; Leslie Herrick, 2017 DCAC Bravo Award; Noretta Dunworth, 2017 Mayor’s Award; Sharon Baloga, 2017 Arts Educator Award and Park Place Caterers, 2017 Arts Patron Award.
The ceremony will feature a musical performance by students of Stout Theater Company and a special performance courtesy of The Silver Strings Dulcimer Society. After the ceremony, a free reception will be held in the Padzieski Art Gallery inside the Center.
