DEARBORN – The Dearborn Fire Department recently held swearing-in ceremonies for two firefighters at the Dearborn Administrative Center.
Mayor Jack O’Reilly, Jr. was accompanied by Fire Chief Joseph Murray and the Deputy Fire Chief Joey Thorington in welcoming Firefighter William Querfeld to the department on May 24.
On July 26, O’Reilly joined Fire Chief Murray, Assistant Chief D.J. Begeman and Assistant Chief Steve Densmore to welcome Firefighter Zachary Burbridge.
All were sworn in by City Clerk George Darany during the ceremonies.
The new firefighters begin their jobs with relevant experience and education.
Querfeld is a Dearborn native and attended Dearborn High School and Schoolcraft College. He worked as a Dearborn Fire Department cadet for three years.
Burbridge is originally from Livonia. He attended Churchill High School and Schoolcraft College and worked as firefighter for the Westland Fire Department before coming to Dearborn.
