DEARBORN — The Leaders Advancing & Helping Communities (LAHC) organization (formerly known as the Lebanese American Heritage Club), announced its plans to award $60,000 in scholarship money to area students during its 31st annual Awards Gala in a press release today.
The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 10 at the Henry Hotel-Autograph Collection in the city here, with nearly 1,000 leaders of the corporate, government and grassroots community expected to attend, the organization said.
Award winners at this year’s gala will include Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans and Dr. Marwan Abouljoud, director of the Transplant Institute and Hepatobiliary Surgery, and Benson Ford Chair in Transplantation at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
This year’s event will be presented by The Ford Motor Company Fund.
Ameera David, a WXYZ Channel 7 anchor and reporter, will serve as emcee for the evening.
