DEARBORN — The city and the surrounding area are known for its love of all things automotive and driving-related, and Nissan is fast becoming a favorite of customers worldwide, rising to number five in the global automobile company rankings.

But Dearborn has been without a Nissan dealership since the abrupt closing of the All Pro Nissan dealership last fall, following multiple lawsuits against its former ownership group due to its alleged failure to replay millions in floorplan loans, as well as alleged delinquent payments to numerous local media outlets.

Now under new management, the dealership is turning over a new leaf, working to become a mainstay in the local community with its unique assortment of vehicles since its reopening on December 27.

“All-Pro left a bad taste in customers mouths,” said Chris Dugan, Nissan of Dearborn’s general sales manager.

“Our goal is to make a longstanding relationship, rather than an overnight one like All-Pro Nissan,” he added. “We want to make a very positive impact in the community.”

The dealership was purchased by Alan Jay Wildstein, CEO of Alan Jay Automotive, along with Nissan of Macomb and Nissan of Canton.

According to Dugan, large numbers of Nissan parts are made in North America. The company offers customers an electric option through the Nissan LEAF, as well as a large selection of sedans, which are being phased out by both GM and Ford.

The company’s top three current offerings are the Nissan Rogue SUV, the Nissan Sentra sedan and the Nissan Altima sedan.

“We stand behind our product,” Dugan said. “We’re one of the only dealerships offering sedans; a great product at a competitive price.”

The dealership currently offers four different vehicle models for lease at under $300 a month and is focused on providing a superior customer experience and service to help it stand out from other dealers.

“We don’t want to be just another dealership, we want to give back to the community,” Dugan said. “We want this to be a place people want to come to rather than one they have to come to.”

The dealership, located at 24501 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn near the former Toys R’ Us on the city’s west side, is open Monday through Friday at 9 a.m. It closes at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and Friday and 9 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Saturdays, hours are from  10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
