DEARBORN — A unique opportunity is available for residents who own a convertible by the city of Dearborn for Memorial Day, May 27.
The city is searching for convertible owners to honor special veterans being recognized as part of its 2019 Memorial Day Parade.
Local veteran leaders and special World War II vets are among those being honored this year.
The commitment for interested drivers would be from 8:30 a.m. Monday, May 27 to about 11 a.m. The parade runs 1.5 miles and starts at 10 a.m.
Those interested should contact the Dearborn Department of Public Information at 313-943-2285 or rstonik@ci.dearborn.mi.us by Friday, May 10. Dearborn has the oldest continuous Memorial Day parade in the state and one of the largest in the country.
This year’s theme is Gold Star Families, honoring the loved ones of those who died in service to the United States.
