DEARBORN HEIGHTS – While the search for a new superintendent for the Crestwood School District has been in progress, the board has selected four finalists to move onto the interview process.
The names of the candidates are James Baker, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Lakeview School District, Battle Creek, MI; Dr. Mary Ann Cyr, Assistant Superintendent, Taylor School District, Taylor, MI; Dr. Youssef Mosallam, Executive Director of Community Partnerships, College and Career Readiness Achievement, Dearborn Public Schools, Dearborn, MI, Ph. D; and Dr. Patrick Adams Jr. Ph. D, Principal, Roseville High School, Roseville, MI.
Interview dates for Mosallam is scheduled on Monday, September 23rd at 5:30 p.m., and Cyr at 7:00 p.m. Baker will be interviewed on Tuesday, September 24th at 5:15pm, and Adams will be interviewed on Wednesday, September 25th at 5:30 p.m.
The board will determine who makes it to a second interview after the interviews. The decision will be discussed the following week.
The board urges the community to come out and get involved in the process as the interviews are open to the public at the district’s headquarters. “It is important for the community to be involved in this process,” Crestwood School Board Trustee Nadia Berry said.
“There will be comment cards available for the public and every board member will have a copy from these cards,” Berry said.
Trustee Salwa Fawaz also told The Arab American News that the presence of the community is integral in the process of appointing a new superintendent for Crestwood’s school district.
