DEARBORN — Dearborn Public Schools announced on Thursday the appointments of seven new principals within the district for the 2010-2011 school year along with other positions that are now waiting for approval at the August 23 Board of Education meeting.
Youssef Mosallam will move from his Principal position at River Oaks Elementary in Dearborn Heights to the position of Principal at Fordson High School in Dearborn. He will be replaced by Abe Mashhour, who is currently Assistant Principal at Stout Middle School.
Other Arab Americans expected to be appointed to new positions at Dearborn schools include Rima Younes to Principal at Lowery Middle School, where she currently serves as Assistant Principal, Adnan Moughni to Principal at Henry Ford Elementary, where he currently serves as Assistant Principal, Fatme Faraj to Principal of Maples Elementary from her current position of Assistant Principal at Lowrey in Dearborn,and Intissar Harajli to Coordinator at Henry Ford Elementary and mentor support at Cotter and ELL. Harajli is currently Coordinator of Bilingual Education/ELL, and Rose Aldubaily to the position of Coordinator–Bilingual Education/ELL. Aldubaily is currently Principal at Miller Elementary.
“We are very fortunate to have talented and skilled people in our district who are ready to take on new challenges and share their knowledge,” said Dearborn Schools Superintendent Brian Whiston in a press release.
“I’m confident these individuals will do an excellent job of creating an environment that is focused on learning and student achievement.”
In addition, Lisa Napolitan is expected to become Principal of Miller Elementary after moving over from her current position as Principal at Maples Elementary and Ross Groover is expected to be named Principal at Snow Elementary. Groover is currently a Reading First facilitator with the Michigan Department of Education.
