DETROIT — In an effort to make the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in New York a national day of service and remembrance the Arab Community Center for Social and Economic Services partnered up with WISDOM, InterFaith Leadership Council, City Year and 1 By Youth and Leadership Detroit to participate in “Acts of Kindness (A-OK) Detroit: A Weekend of Remembrance and Restoration.” Volunteers from the various organizations participated in a variety of projects around the city on Saturday, Sep.11 and Sunday, Sep. 12. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., meeting at Clark Park in southwest Detroit. Some of the projects included installing new park benches, painting murals, cleaning up parks around the city and other activities.
