LANSING — Michigan’s graduated driver’s license program
instituted new restrictions on Wednesday that are designed to save lives and
minimize distractions.
Those drivers who have intermediate licenses will not be
allowed to have more than one unrelated passenger under age 21 unless they’re
accompanied by a parent or guardian or driving to and from school or school
events.
The same drivers also will not be allowed to drive between
10 p.m to 5 a.m. unless driving to and from work as opposed to the previous
rule of midnight.
