LAS VEGAS – Dearborn native and current Miss USA, Rima Fakih, is
scheduled to transfer her crown to the next winner of the pageant after
Sunday’s event, which airs on June 19 on NBC at 9 p.m.
Fakih has said
she has learned a great deal from her experience in the spotlight while staying
in New York City and conducting various promotional interviews, making
appearances at charity events, and more.
She also recently made headlines when she reportedly stayed
out late and missed a meeting for the organization the next day. She said she
promised that it would not happenagain and has since focused on getting ready
to assist this year’s pageant contestants. Fakih also appeared on “WWE
Tough Enough,” a reality TV wrestling competition show on USA Network.
The Michigan representative for this year’s pageant is
24-year-old Channing Pierce of Royal Oak.
