DEARBORN – The campus of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, along with the Flint and Ann Arbor campuses, implemented a smoking ban on Friday after years of careful study.
Cars will now be the only place smoking is allowed on the premises as smoking will be banned in parking lots, courtyards, and other areas.
Similar policies have been put into place by more than 260 universities according to reports and many hospitals have begun following suit. No official enforcement has initially been decided on for the policy, however, with the hope that students and faculty will begin to quit on their own.
