DEARBORN HEIGHTS — The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) recently found the Crestwood School District in Dearborn Heights in violation of the federal Civil Rights Act for failing to hire Arab-American and minority teachers and discriminating against Arab Americans in its hiring and recruiting.
The Dearborn Heights Community Organization, (DHCO) welcomes the EEOC report and recommendations and will continue to closely monitor the situation at Crestwood. Hassan Bazzi, chairman of the DHCO stated, “We are prepared to assist the district in achieving the recommendations set forth by the EEOC.” Bazzi went on to say, “We continue to uphold our mission in ensuring that Dearborn Heights and Crestwood remains the standard of excellence for our children’s future.”
