DETROIT — The Michigan Youth Appreciation Foundation, which works to inspire youth to succeed, is launching a new program designed to empower young people through the dynamics of music while emphasizing science, technology, engineering and math (S.T.E.M.).
The program, called “Uniting Detroit”, officially kicked off on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. at Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit, according to Edward Deeb, founder and chairman of non-profit organizations Michigan Youth Appreciation Foundation (MYAF) and Metro Detroit Youth Day (MDYD).
Deeb is the founder of the Michigan Food and Beverage Association and has been the chairman for more than 50 years. He is also chairman of the Michigan Business and Professional Association and is founder and chairman of Uniting Detroit.
“Our new Uniting Detroit program came about because of the success of Metro Detroit Youth Day, which annually draws more than 30,000 youngsters to Belle Isle for its annual event,” said Deeb.
