MICHIGAN — According to a recent WXYZ-TV/ Detroit Free Press poll released this week, incumbent Republican Rick Snyder is leading the gubernatorial race. The poll shows Snyder received 45 percent of the vote; his opponent, Democrat Mark Schauer, had 43 percent; Libertarian Mary Buzuma had 2 percent; Paul Homeniuk of the Green Party had 1 percent of the votes; and 9 percent of voters were undecided.
Votes for Mark McFarlin of the US Taxpayers Party’s percentage were listed as “not applicable.”
The poll also showed Democratic congressman Gary Peters was taking the lead against his opponent, Republican Terri Lynn Land, in Michigan’s senate race.
