DEARBORN — On Thursday, AAPAC members approved monetary support for selected candidates who are members of the organization. Also, AAPAC members voted to support Mo Baydoun, a fourth candidate in the Dearborn Heights Council race.
Last week AAPAC endorsed candidates Bob Constan, Bill Bazzi and Jeff Mallad. Eleven candidates are running for the four open seats; only the top eight vote getters will advance for the November general election.
AAPAC members decided to opt out of endorsing candidates in the Detroit City Council and City Clerk races. They will, however, revisit the candidates for those races in November.
Only candidates who request endorsements in writing will be considered for endorsements. In order for a candidate to be endorsed by AAPAC , he or she must obtain two thirds of the votes of those members in attendance and in good standing.
