Dearborn — While prayer was taking place at Divine Child Church on Wednesday morning, an identified man threw into the chapel what an investigation revealed to be a commercial grade firework.
A Bible was burnt, but no one was harmed.
Witnesses told officers the man was about a 30 to 40 year old White man with short dark hair. The suspect was seen fleeing the area in a newer Cadillac four door, with silver rims. The Cadillac had multiple stickers placed on the rear window and rear bumper.
Dearborn Police said the suspect is also responsible for several similar incidents in Dearborn in past weeks.
“This assailant terrorized the parishioners inside a house of worship with a total disregard for their safety,” Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad stated. “I am confident based on the surveillance footage that someone will be able to identify the suspect or his vehicle.”
