Wayne County Commissioner Diane Webb, who has officially launched her re-election campaign to continue representing the citizens of Dearborn Heights and Redford Township on the Wayne County Commission, has received the endorsements of the chief elected officials in both communities. Webb is being challenged by Democratic State Representative Bob Constan who serves Michigan’s 16th House District. Redford Township Supervisor Tracey Schultz-Kobylarz and Dearborn Heights Mayor Dan Paletko have both announced their support of Commissioner Webb’s re-election campaign. “Commissioner Webb has been a very effective representative for our community on the Wayne County Commission,” said Mayor Paletko. “She sincerely cares about our residents, has a clear understanding of the issues that are important to our community, and has proven her ability to build productive coalitions and get things done.” Supervisor Schultz-Kobylarz said that Webb is very passionate about Redford Township, and has been a very valued partner for the community. “Commissioner Webb gets things done and delivers what she says she is going to deliver. I am pleased that the she is running for re-election, and I look forward to her continued service on the commission,” Supervisor Schultz-Kobylarz said.
In addition to Supervisor Schultz-Kobylarz and Mayor Paletko, Webb has also received endorsements from Dearborn Heights Council Chairman Ken Baron, and Council Members; Tom Berry, Marge Horvath and Lisa Hicks-Clayton, and Treasurer John Riley, Jr.; Redford Township Trustees; Diana Brang-Schroeder, Patricia Kennedy, and Pat McRae; Redford Township Clerk Garth Christie; and Livonia Council President Laura Toy and Council Members Maureen Miller-Brosnan, Joe Laura, and Tom Robinson. Because of redistricting following the 2010 U.S. Census, her commission district has been renumbered from district 9 to district 8, and has added the northeast section of Livonia.
Webb has served as Wayne County Commissioner for the past four years, and has been very successful at securing county resources for road improvements and parks improvements in her commission district. She has a proven track record for being accessible and responsive to residents; resolving hundreds of issues called into her office every year.
“I enjoy an excellent working relationship with the elected officials, business and community leaders in my district and look forward to be able to continue working with them to serve the residents of my district,” Webb said.
She also announced that she has received endorsements from Wayne County Treasurer Raymond Wojtowicz, Wayne County Register of Deeds Bernard J. Youngblood, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy and Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon.
“It has been my honor to serve the residents from both of these communities. Together we have accomplished a great deal, and for that opportunity, I am grateful, and inspired. I am committed to driving the changes that need to occur in Wayne County, while continuing to deliver effective and responsive service to my constituents in the district. I am also pleased to welcome the citizens of southeast Livonia who will now be a part of the new 8th District.”
