WEST BLOOMFIELD – Al Zara, a Chaldean American is competing for a trustee seat on the West Bloomfield Township board. This is the first time Zara has run for public office. The board is comprised of seven members which include a supervisor, clerk, treasurer and four trustees. He is running as a Democrat in the August 7 primary. There are more than 10 other democrats competing for the position. Zara is the co-owner and GeekTown USA, a digital marketing company that assists businesses and various groups with marketing their websites, products and services. Zara also serves on the executive board of the Adopt-A-Refugee program, which helps Iraqi Christians refugees who have been persecuted and live in Iraq, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon.
