Our communities deserve direct access to the candidates seeking their votes, and clear answers about the decisions that will shape Michigan’s future.

The Arab American News proudly hosted a candidate roundtable organized by New Michigan Media, bringing together publishers and editors from Latino Press, Korean Weekly, The Arab American News and Bangla Shangbad, a Bangladeshi newspaper. The interviews were moderated by the Director of New Michigan Media Dr. Hayg Oshagan.

We interviewed Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate; Garlin Gilchrist, Democratic candidate for Michigan Secretary of State; Anthony Forlini, Republican candidate for Michigan Secretary of State; and Eli Savit, Democratic candidate for Michigan Attorney General.

New Michigan Media extended the same invitation to all Democratic and Republican candidates seeking these offices including the Gubernatorial candidates. Every candidate who responded and participated received equal interview time.

Our commitment is clear: to ask meaningful questions, hold candidates accountable and ensure that the communities we serve have the information they need to make informed choices.

Our communities are a vital part of Michigan’s future. Our voices matter. Our questions deserve answers. And our votes must never be taken for granted.
