DETROIT — Women who wish to obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon (CCW) will have a chance to receive their required safety training as a group when the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with the Wayne County Community College District offers a “for women only” CCW gun safety class on October 27th and November 3rd, Sheriff Warren Evans has announced. Co-ed classes will be held on October 28th and November 5th.
The class will run from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The first half of the day will consist of classroom-based instruction at the Sheriff’s Training Center, located at the western campus of WCCCD, located at 9555 Haggerty Road in Belleville. The second half of the day will consist of firearms training at the Sheriff’s indoor pistol range, located at 3100 Henry Ruff in Westland.
The cost for the class is $125, which is less expensive than many privately run CCW classes. Payment should be in the form of a money order made payable to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
