DEARBORN— Doctors Without Borders, an international medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters and exclusion from health care in more than 60 countries, is coming to the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, Michigan on June 28 to recruit medical and non-medical staff to help run its projects around the world.

Based in Geneva, Switzerland, Doctors Without Borders, also known as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), sends out doctors, nurses, logisticians, water and sanitation experts, administrators and other medical and non-medical professionals on more than 7,700 aid assignments each year. They work alongside more than 30,900 locally hired staff to provide medical care.

MSF is actively recruiting Arabic speakers of all professional profiles, due to MSF’s ongoing work in Arabic speaking countries including Lebanon, Jordan and Sudan. Non Arabic speakers are also encouraged to attend.

Dr. Namita Sharma, an MSF aid worker  who worked in South Sudan and Tanzania, will talk at the recruitment event.

A human resources officer will be on hand to discuss requirements and the recruitment process and local MSF aid workers will share their stories of life in the field.
